TrainingA core value at Nova Mental Health is gaining and sharing knowledge and engaging in ongoing training. For this reason, the team at Nova Mental Health place strong emphasis on their own training and professional development. We believe that continuing education is crucial to providing the highest quality of care to our clients. This allows the psychologists, counsellors, and social workers at Nova Mental health to be up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in the areas of anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD, and related disorders), Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, and other areas of specialization. Aside from regular continuing education opportunities, the team at Nova Mental Health engage in regular peer consultation and ongoing supervision from experienced professionals to ensure that they are providing the best possible care.
Aside from strengthening our own knowledge and practical skills, we also value providing training, knowledge, and/or professional development opportunities to others in the mental health field, educators, parents, and organizations. Our workshops and training opportunities are designed to provide individuals with the latest research and best practices in the areas of anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD, and related disorders), Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, and other areas of mental health. In addition, Dr. Ionita offers clinical supervision to students, professionals, and mental health teams who are looking to gain further knowledge in the areas of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Supportive Parenting for Childhood Emotions (SPACE), Tics, parent coaching, Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder. As well as helping therapists consider their own professional goals and helping them build their confidence to achieve these. Please reach out to info@novamentalhealth to learn more about supervision/consultation opportunities. Lastly, Nova Mental Health offers practicum placements for doctoral-level students in Clinical or Counselling Psychology programs. Practicum placements allow students to gain knowledge and practical experiences in areas of mental health that are currently underserved (e.g., OCD), while also allowing us to give back to the community by providing low-fee counselling services. Overall, Nova Mental Health is committed to supporting the ongoing education and professional development of it's team members and those in the community. |
