TrainingAt Nova Mental Health, a core value is gaining and sharing knowledge through ongoing professional development. Our team of psychologists, counsellors, and social workers places strong emphasis on training and keeping up-to-date with current evidence and best practices. We believe that continuing education is crucial to providing the highest quality of care to our clients. In addition, the team at Nova Mental Health regularly engages in peer consultation and ongoing supervision from experienced professionals to ensure our practice remains grounded in the latest research and clinical standards.
In addition to strengthening our own skills, we also offer training and professional development opportunities for professionals in the mental-health field, educators, parents, and organizations. Our workshops and training opportunities are designed to provide individuals with the latest research and best practices in the areas of anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and other areas of mental health. Dr. Ionita offers clinical supervision to students, professionals, and mental health teams who are looking to gain further knowledge in the areas of OCD, ADHD, Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), Tics, and parent coaching. She also supports therapists in defining and achieving their professional goals and helping them to build their confidence to achieve these. Please reach out to info@novamentalhealth to learn more about supervision and consultation opportunities. Lastly, Nova Mental Health offers practicum placements for doctoral-level students in Clinical or Counselling Psychology programs. Practicum placements allow students to gain knowledge and practical experiences in areas of mental health that are currently underserved (e.g., OCD), while also allowing us to give back to the community by providing low-fee counselling services. Overall, Nova Mental Health is committed to supporting the ongoing education and professional development of its team members and those in the community. |
