Neurodiversity-Affirming ADHD Assessments for Children, Teens, and Adults
Nova Mental Health offers brief Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) assessments that examines symptoms in depth and can provide you with a diagnosis accompanied by a report detailing your specific symptoms. If you are considering medication options, the report can be shared with your physician. It can also be shared with a school to help teacher's understand your child's needs and provide appropriate support. better support your child.
Our assessment process involves a thorough clinical interview, which lasts approximately one hour, along with the completion of standardized screening tools and rating scales and gathering information from parents, partners, teachers, or individuals familiar with the client. For children and teens, we review report cards. Following the assessment, we will meet to discuss your results and you will be provided with the report. Our assessments can be conducted online or in-person.
Although we provide a report, many universities and colleges have specific forms or letter requirements, which include recommended accommodations in detail. If you need one of these forms or letters, we would need to schedule a separate session (which would be billed separately), to discuss your needs in-depth and ensure we understand your learning environment fully. This allows us to provide the most helpful and accurate documentation.
Kindly note that we do not provide psychoeducational assessments or neurological testing. However, should you require additional assessments for learning concerns or other conditions that may impact attention and executive functioning, we can provide you with a list of practitioners who specialize in these services.
Your assessments will be conducted by Gabrielle Ciquier, under the close supervision of Dr. Gabriela Ionita, Registered Psychologist.
