Helping Children, Teens, Adults, and Couples Move Towards Mental Wellness Through Compassionate Care and Evidence-Based Therapy
At Nova Mental Health, we are driven by a shared mission: to empower individuals and facilitate their personal growth, resilience, and well-being. Our team of dedicated professionals, including psychologists, counselors, and social workers, is committed to providing evidence-based counseling services, and assessments to help children, youth, adults, and couples navigate mental health challenges.
Through evidence-based therapeutic techniques and a compassionate, collaborative approach, we strive to help clients feel empowered and to develop new skills and strategies to help them manage the obstacles in their lives. We integrate the latest research evidence and adhere to best-practice guidelines, ensuring that our work is grounded in scientific evidence. We apply techniques and approaches from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposures and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), while tailoring our counselling and psychological services to meet the unique needs of each individual.
Our psychologists, counsellors, and social workers specialize in the areas of: anxiety, depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related disorders, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). We also provide support with behavioural concerns, addiction, relationship issues, and day-to-day stress. When working with clients with ADHD, we use a neurodiversity affirming approach and we are providing ADHD assessments at this time.
The growth of our therapists is also a priority for us at Nova Mental health. We believe in cultivating a learning environment that fosters professional development, continuous education, and a passion for innovation. We encourage a collaborative culture, where therapists engage in ongoing training, supervision, and peer support, ensuring they stay at the forefront of therapeutic advancements. Our commitment to the growth and well-being of our therapists ultimately translates into better outcomes and support for our clients.
Located at Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver, our clinic is situated on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples, including the Squamish nation, Tsleil-Waututh Nation, and Musqueam Nation. We acknowledge and respect the rich cultural heritage and history of these indigenous communities on this land.
To accommodate busy and schedules and diverse preferences, we offer flexible appointment times and virtual sessions, in addition to in-person sessions at our conveniently located office.
