Karla Robinson, M.S.W. Registered Social WorkerKarla (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker who holds a Master of Social Work with a clinical focus from the University of British Columbia Okanagan. She has post-graduate training in Emotion-Focused Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Skills Therapy. During this time, she has gained specialized training in the areas of OCD, providing both individual therapy and group treatment and has completed the BTTI training in ERP and ACT through the International OCD Institute.
Karla has been working with children, youth, and families for the past seven years in various capacities of mental health and relationships. Karla specializes in working with children, families, and young adults who may be struggling with ADHD, depression, anxiety, OCD, attachment concerns and/or other relationship challenges. She is passionate in empowering individuals to strengthen relationships and overcome their mental health challenges/symptoms that may interfere with their well-being and quality of life. Karla works from a client-centered approach in understanding her clients from their own story as well as their hopes for treatment in addressing symptoms, avoidance, and any other related mental health challenges that interfere with their well-being, relationships, and environment. In addition, Karla is passionate about collaborating with parents in order to foster healthier relationships, set healthy boundaries and empower their children to express their emotions. |
