Dominique Sorace, M.A., Registered Clinical CounsellorDominique Sorace (she/her) obtained her Master’s Degree in Clinical Counselling from City University of Seattle. Dominique is both a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Canadian Certified Counsellor who specializes in working with children (6+), youth, young adults, and adults struggling with anxiety disorders, OCD, ADHD, depression, eating disorders, interpersonal and relational challenges, and self-esteem/self-confidence. Dominique also provides parent support counselling. Dominique brings extensive experience from working in schools and in child and youth mental health agencies.
Dominique has training in experiencing applying Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). She has also had extensive formal training working with eating disorders (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia, Binge-eating disorder, and ARFID). Dominique is currently working towards obtaining a certification in Emotion Focused Therapy and Internal Family Systems. Dominique adopts a client-centered approach, tailoring her therapeutic methods to meet the unique needs and preferences of her clients, while prioritizing evidence-based practice. She considers the biological, environmental, and social factors influencing her clients to determine the most effective therapeutic strategies. Dominique’s goal as a therapist is to ensure that her clients leave their sessions with a stronger sense of self, a set of tangible skills, and a greater ability to communicate their needs and navigate their challenges. She is committed to creating a safe, welcoming space where her clients feel seen, understood, and respected, without the fear of judgement. |
