Tara McCaffery, M.C., Registered Clinical CounsellorTara (she/her) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Meditation Instructor who works with youth (13+) and adults navigating anxiety, OCD, trauma, life transitions, and relationship challenges. She is known for her compassionate, grounded presence and her ability to help clients manage personal, relational, and situational distress.
Tara’s approach is informed by research and rooted in the understanding that meaningful, lasting change occurs when clients increase self-awareness, recognize unhelpful patterns, and develop practical tools and strategies. She works collaboratively with clients to build on their existing strengths while introducing skills that foster emotional regulation, resilience, and long-term well-being. Her goal is to support change at a pace that feels both challenging and respectful. Tara has specialized training in treating Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety, including the use of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy. When supporting clients who have experienced trauma, she draws from a trauma-informed lens and incorporates Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Whether clients are healing from acute trauma or the cumulative effects of chronic stress, Tara offers evidence-based strategies tailored to their needs. She also supports clients through life transitions—including career shifts, burnout, parenting changes, and identity exploration—viewing these periods not only as challenges but also as opportunities for growth, reflection, and renewal.
