Assessment:
We can provide an assessment for children ages --- to --- who struggle with eating and drinking. This assessment will be carried out by Alexandra Hill (Speech Language Pathologist) to allow us to better understand your child's unique feeding needs and concerns. An assessment typically take 60-75 minutes and includes:
We work directly with you and your child to create a positive relationship with food and mealtimes and reduce conflict related to feeding, to increase the variety of foods and textures that your child will try and (eat), decrease resistance to engaging with food, and / or reduce anxiety related to eating.
Our Psychologist and Counsellor's approach is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) Expanded, approaches specifically designed for making changes around eating behaviours.

Please note that this program focuses on feeding problems, which are different from eating disorders.
- Eating or drinking very little or not gaining weight
- Eating only certain food types or textures
- Issues related to the oral motor skills children need to chew, swallow, eat, and / or drink
- Sensitivities that make it difficult for children to eat a wide range of food types and textures
- Worries or anxieties related to eating
- Having had a previous negative experience with eating
- Lack of enjoyment or boredom related to feeding
- Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)
- Emetophobia (Fear of vomiting)

- Assessment of motor, postural, and oral-motor skills (?)
- Review of sensory systems that could be affecting feeding (?)
- Review of the current dynamics involved in feeding your child
- Review of your child's developmental and medical history
